Checklist link: American Robin (Turdus migratorius) and Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) recording
I got the feeder cam for my family’s yard back in August of 2023. Their backyard was filled with birds from other feeders and the garden, so I figured it was only a matter of time to see the most common birds on camera. I was listing off the birds I had seen on camera the other day in my head and realized I had yet to witness a robin to my knowledge. Robins are relatively common birds around here, so I was surprised by this realization. Maybe I missed one, who knows. But I decided this morning to sift through the sound recordings and see what I came up with. Right off the bat, there was a recording with both an American robin and blue jay. The robin’s voice takes up most of the recording, but the blue jay can be heard in the background at the 10 second mark.
