Checklist link: European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris)
Unlike my husband, I am not up during the morning hours on a regular basis. However, I needed to take him to work to make use of our car. Since the weather has been warming up recently, there were more birds out and singing, or so it seemed to me. It could actually be a common occurrence, but like I said, I am not usually up at this hour. I stopped in our parking lot after coming home to get a recording and see what birds were chirping. The Merlin software stated that a Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) , a European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) , and a House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) were captured in the sound bite. These birds were all up on the wires, the roofs, and/or the trees nearby, so I couldn’t confirm with visual sightings.
