This is a thing that happened last night. In the Creighton Blue Jays vs. DePaul Blue Demons game in the second round of the Big East Tournament game last night, the wildest assist in basketball history happened. Creighton’s player threw up what had to be a wild shot attempt that bounced off the edge of the backboard (there was no way he was trying to pass it to somebody) and ended up in the hands of a teammate who made the shot. It’s a play that couldn’t happen again if they tried it 100 times. Sometimes you need luck to have a season that has been as good as Creighton has been this year.
I grew up watching a lot of DePaul Blue Demon games with my dad and really liking the team when they were coached by Ray Meyer. They had great players like Mark Aguirre, Rod Strickland, Terry Cummings and so many other talented players. It’s been a long time since DePaul has been any good and even though I am a diehard Kentucky Wildcats fan, it makes me sad that DePaul isn’t better than they are. It doesn’t help when they get hurt by fluke plays like this though.
