Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.  The numbers and the results just don’t lie.  Except for a year or two of having a motivated Randy Moss, how many GREAT wide receivers has Tom Brady had?  Wes Welker?  Would anyone say that Wes Welker is a guaranteed lock and deserving Hall of Famer?  How many great running backs have the Patriots had over the course of Tom Brady’s career?  The Law Firm of BenJarvis Green-Ellis wasn’t GREAT.  Corey Dillon was towards the end of his career and above average but is anyone leading the Dillon for Canton campaign?  What about Laurence Maroney?  Stevan Ridley has a huge fumbling problem and almost played his way off the team earlier this season before turning it around and playing like he did last year.  Does one and a half good seasons make for a Hall of Fame career?  Brady has taken the New England Patriots to five Super Bowls and has won three of them. There is no denying that Tom Brady has been the most successful quarterback of his generation and he has done it without the best supporting cast.  He has outdueled Peyton Manning on several occasions along the way and has owned Ben Roethlisberger head to head as well.  He even has a better social life than everyone else in the league because he had impregnated TWO different super models AT THE SAME TIME!  He has the rock star marriage with supermodel Gisele and has turned himself into basically a male model in the offseason with the way the papparazzi take his photo and plaster them everywhere.

Evidently, there is just one thing in life at which Tom Brady is truly horrible.  Giving and receiving high fives.  He tried getting Julian Edelman to give him a high five earlier this season while playing the New Orleans Saints and Edelman left him hanging.  It was an embarrassing moment that made Deadspin and dozens of other sports websites.  I even blogged the now famous GIF of Edelman making Tom Brady look like a fool:

Well you don’t think that someone as rich, famous, powerful and determined as Tom Brady was going to accept that failure did you?  He went back to the practice field and worked on his High Five giving and receiving skills.  He put in countless hours perfecting his fundamentals.  Rumor has it that he even made Gisele go around the house giving him high fives for remembering to put the toilet seat down and putting his dirty clothes in the hamper instead of on the floor.  After several weeks of hard work and determination, Tom Brady decided to go for it again.  While racking up a historic defeat of the proud franchise known as the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tom Brady put his reputation at stake and tried again.  This time is was a success and it was as glorious, awkward and hilarious as you thought it would be.  The sigh of relief could be heard throughout New England.  Thank you LeGarrette Blount for not leaving Tom Brady hanging again.  The world might have self destructed:
