Juan Uribe fell for the hidden ball trick yesterday. I haven’t seen that in a LONG time. In the grand scheme of things, I didn’t amount to anything because the Dodgers were still able to win the game 5-0 but kudos to the Rays anyway for pulling it off.
Since the Dodgers did get the victory, Uribe’s teammates were in a good mood and decided to prank him about falling for the oldest trick in the book!
The Dodgers continue to roll though as they swept the Cubs in a 4 games series, took 3 of 4 from the Cardinals and won the first two against the Rays. 9-1 in their last 10 games. They have opened up a 6.5 game lead on the Arizona Diamondbacks and as of August 11th, they have a 93.1% chance of making the playoffs according to ESPN’s playoff expectancy calculations. They have completely turned it around since calling up Yasiel Puig and have saved Don Mattingly’s job. It will be interesting to see how they finish the season.
