30, White Sox and Nightmares

Today was not good at the gym at all. I lost my motivation somewhere along the walk from the weights to the cardio machines. I guess it has to do with the rough night of sleep. I will touch on that in the next paragraph. I did more lifts than normal and my shoulders are still feeling the burn. I got over to the cardio machines and all the treadmills were taken and I only like 2 of them that the gym has anyway. I decided to go ahead and try the glider. I didn’t even last as long as I did the first day back at the gym. My knees wanted nothing to do with acting like they were running. I got to a 100 calories burned and a treadmill opened up. I went to do the treadmill and after five minutes I was just not into being there any longer. I called it a day and came home. Blah.

Last night I didn’t sleep all that well. First, I kept craving McDonalds. They were open yesterday which shocked me and from about 8 pm on last night I kept craving nuggets and double quarter pounders. This diet is going to be hard to stick to. I went to sleep to avoid getting in the car and going into town to get food. I ended up having nightmares that kept waking me up periodically through the night. I kept seeing Phase II of the previously mentioned plans being a huge disaster due to two things. I will now have to heed those subconscious warnings and do my damnedest to make sure they don’t occur.

So one of my best friends that I’ve had since I was 5 years old turns 30 today. We are going to the White Sox game tonight. He has promised me that it will not rain on me so what the hell, it beats sitting around the house all by myself. He seems to be handling turning 30 quite well and I’m sure that I will do the same when it is my turn in 7 months. I actually had a dream the other night that I had a huge birthday party that had quite a few people there. I haven’t had a birthday party since I was 16. I guess maybe 18. Would Chris flying to Kentucky and us going to the nudie bar when I turned 18 count as a party? BTW- there is no chance that I throw a party for those that are wondering…at most, I may go out to eat dinner with a few of my friends and actually acknowledge that it is my birthday which is something that I don’t usually do.

Good Day…and hopefully a good week as well.
